So Declan is the flipper - today he kept rolling from his back to his stomach. It's such an amazing discovery and a huge milestone. Flipper's in the bath right now with Daddy, and I can hear him laughing. I love it. I'm superstitious - for the past two nights we did a bath time routine, and for the past two nights he's slept > 6 hours in the first stretch. So bath time it is. "Flipper" is also an appropriate name for him because he loves the water - like Flipper the Dolphin - does anyone else remember that show? I used to like staying home sick from school so I could watch Flipper.
Jack is the barker because he has additionally added "woof" to his vocabulary! (pronounced "euf" or sometimes just a quiet "fffff") So he'll say "daw... euf! He's learning because he has this animal puzzle that makes sounds, and we do the animals every day. He can even put away some of the puzzle pieces which blows my mind.
Two other cute things that Jack did today: First, while I was holding Declan, Jack came over and gave Declan a hug and a kiss. This made me so happy because it shows me that Jack realizes that hugs and kisses are a way of showing love and affection, and that all the hugs and kisses I've given him have sunken in. Second, while I was talking on the phone this morning, I was pacing around the coffee table. I looked up and Jack had the TV remote to his ear, head tilted to the right, jabbering away, waving his left hand, and walking around the coffee table. Hilarious.
